This is a real ad, not a sample. Actually a couple of members suggested I posted this. Trilingual Linguist Language Teacher for Kids I am a teacher of Mandarin and Spanish to kids aged 3-6 years of age. I have many years of experience and a degree in Linguistics. In my practice, I work with kids individually and in groups. I mainly focus on Orange County, however, LA County can be an option for special cases. Language Coach for Adults Some members look for me to guide them through the learning of a language. Since I am proficient in Mandarin and Spanish, those I the languages I focus on. With the help of the internet, we now have access to tons of free material for learning. However, with the help of a linguist you can learn how to begin, what challenges you are to face phonetically, syntacticly and so on. This is not a tutor lesson, I basically teach you how to teach yourself a language. This is taught with a combination of remote (phone/skype) and in-person meetings. Hello. My name is Arnold, I graduated from UCLA with a B.A. degree in East Asian Studies. I am currently a PCC student taking swimming and modern dance courses. I work as an Alternate Media College Assistant and also tutor part-time. I can tutor you through SKYPE, MSN, QQ, or AIM. I specialize in all levels of English and Spanish for teaching children to adults. I can lecture in English, Spanish and even in some Mandarin Chinese--if you prefer. I am also willing to help you with any translation work to the best of my abilities.
My rates are $17 per hour and $10 per half an hour. If you like, you can even have your family accompany you during the session so that they can also watch and learn for free during your paid sessions as many times as they want with no strings attached. My experiences as a Mandarin/Japanese language student and as a volunteer tutor at PCC and UCLA has taught me to understand the difficulties of learning a language and the added costs that can be out of reach for many people.
