My favorite place is JiuFen. There isn't a more magical place in the whole island! Maybe it is the narrow, steep stair going up and down, out and about! The tea houses are just enchanting and the ruins of the old movie theater echo the gold mining era. Spend the night, enjoy the night view, the ocean view and the mountain side colory pavilions, temples and houses. Did you know that this hilly town inspired scenes from the movie Spirited Away? I yearn to be back!~
Come and root for the Dodgers playing the Detroit Tigers on the "Taiwan Day", May 22nd, 2010! See you at the game.
My favorite place is "Shilin Night Market" which is the largest and most well known night market in Taipei (maybe in Taiwan as well!). This night market has all kinds of different foods which can totally represent authentic Taiwanese-style delicious taste including deep fried chicken fillet, huge sausage, fried buns, stinky tofu, pearl tea, lemon aiyu jelly, oyster omelet, peanut candy, and so on! The image of the foods in my brain is making my mouth water! So why don't you just go enjoy it?
My favorite place in Taiwan is Taichung because even though I've been to a lot of scenic places like Kenting, Ping Tung, Jiufen, etc I am still attached to the place that is most like my "lao jia." :)
Thank you for sharing us your favourite place in Taiwan. The winners are Hugo, Catherine, Po-Yen Paddy Sung and Frank Du. By the way, Taiwan Tourism Bureau will invite the Taiwanese Singer "Lin, Yu-Chun" to sing "Taiwan Touch Your Heart" at Dodgers Stadium. Welcome to enjoy a beautiful afternoon with us.
Catherine, I sent out an email about that before, maybe you did not get it. Please get in touch with Jennifer Tai (find her on the RSVP list). I hope it's not too late.
? No more tickets loh? -___- I am too slow oh... @@ Is there other way to get tickets now? ?
Hi Erin, unfortunately the contest is over this time around. I know there will be another Taiwan Day in September, but I don't know if there will be a contest for that one.
I was too busy to say hi to everyone. Hope you guys enjoyed this meetup and see all of you next time.
Yes! I did. i didn't have time to post them. I will upload some later.
My favorite place is Yangmingshan National Park. No matter when you visit, you can enjoy the difference of views and atmosphere.
On Spring time: flower season and enjoy the fresh vegetable
On Summer time: it is the best place to get way for summer time.
On Fall time: prob the best time to visit, full of different colors. It also the best time to go hiking and enjoy a cup of oolong tea outdoor with fabulous night view.
On Winter: it has best of the best hot spring, you just can't miss it
