111th Annual Golden Dragon Parade

This location is shown only to members

The parade is from 1pm to 5 pm.

Enjoy the Chinese New Year Celebrations with the Chinatown Golden Dragon Parade!

This is one day when Chinatown really comes to life! Street vendors decorate the sidewalks, firecrackers attract curious crowds, etc...a cheerful way to spend a day!

I recommend you park at any Metro station parking lots and ride one of two stops to Chinatown. For more info on Metro Stations and More click here.

"In celebrating over one hundred years of tradition, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles presents the 2008 Golden Dragon Parade. With over 110,000 individuals lining the parade route and thousands viewing the telecast each year, this colorful celebration along North Broadway in Chinatown has become the premiere cultural event in the Southern California Asian-American Community.

Since the mid-1980’s, the Golden Dragon Parade has expanded to include almost two dozen floats, multiple marching bands, government officials, various dignitaries, entertainers, local business leaders and cultural groups. The parade’s theme emphasizes ethnic diversity, Chinese Culture and exposure to Chinese-American businesses. The parade continues to be a rich and diverse experience for Angelenos of all ages and ethnicities."

A no-host event is scheduled to let members enjoy of the activity at their own pace. We don't get together as a group to chat or eat. You may RSVP for it to let other members know that you'll be there. Hugo may not attend.

I was going to add some photos I took but I am having issues with Adobe Flash. Sorry folks. Hugo, if you would like to see and post any of my photos, I can email them to you.

It was a beautiful parade. I was unable to find Hugo and the other person that RSVP'd, but that is to be expected in a big crowd and I have never met anyone before. I have some nice pictures of the parade I can share.

It was very hard to meet anyone there, to many people. It would have been nice to make phone calls to every one that went . Other than that I had a great time with people that was not in the group. I still hope that I can meet the group, meet new friends and have fun with . Next time I hope will be better planed to meet
